തിരുവനന്തപുരം: പ്രവാസി കേരളീയരുടെ ക്ഷേമം ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ട് കേരള സർക്കാർ ‘നോർക്ക കെയർ’ എന്ന പേരിൽ പുതിയ സമഗ്ര ഇൻഷുറൻസ് പദ്ധതിക്ക് തുടക്കം കുറിച്ചു. ഈ പോളിസിയിൽ ചേരുന്നതിനുള്ള അവസാന തീയതി നവംബർ 30, 2025 വരെ നീട്ടി.
ബഹുമാനപ്പെട്ട മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ. പിണറായി വിജയൻ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്ത ഈ പദ്ധതി, ലോക കേരള സഭ ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള പ്രവാസി വേദികൾ ദീർഘകാലമായി ഉന്നയിച്ചിരുന്ന ആവശ്യമാണ്. നോർക്ക കെയർ വഴി 5 ലക്ഷം രൂപയുടെ ആരോഗ്യ ഇൻഷുറൻസും 10 ലക്ഷം രൂപയുടെ അപകട ഇൻഷുറൻസുമാണ് ഒരുമിച്ച് ലഭിക്കുന്നത്.
എന്താണ് നോർക്ക കെയർ?
വിദേശ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ താമസിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാസികൾ, വിദേശത്ത് പഠിക്കുന്ന വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ, മറ്റ് ഇന്ത്യൻ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ താമസിക്കുന്ന മലയാളികൾ എന്നിവർക്കായി നോർക്ക റൂട്ട്‌സ് വഴി നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്ന പദ്ധതിയാണിത്. ഇതിൽ രണ്ട് പ്രധാന ആനുകൂല്യങ്ങളുണ്ട്:
- ₹5 ലക്ഷം ആരോഗ്യ ഇൻഷുറൻസ്: ആശുപത്രി ചികിത്സാ ചെലവുകൾക്കായുള്ള ഗ്രൂപ്പ് മെഡിക്ലെയിം പോളിസി.
- ₹10 ലക്ഷം അപകട ഇൻഷുറൻസ്: മരണം, അംഗവൈകല്യം എന്നിവ കവർ ചെയ്യുന്ന ഗ്രൂപ്പ് പേഴ്സണൽ ആക്സിഡന്റ് പോളിസി.
പ്രധാന സവിശേഷതകൾ
പ്രവാസികളുടെ ആവശ്യങ്ങൾ കണ്ടറിഞ്ഞാണ് പോളിസി തയ്യാറാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്:
- നിലവിലെ രോഗങ്ങൾക്ക് പരിരക്ഷ: ഇൻഷുറൻസ് എടുക്കുന്ന സമയത്തുള്ള അസുഖങ്ങൾക്കും (Pre-existing diseases) ആദ്യ ദിവസം മുതൽ കവറേജ് ലഭിക്കും.

- ക്യാഷ്‌ലെസ് ചികിത്സ: കേരളത്തിലെ 500-ലധികം ആശുപത്രികൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെ, ഇന്ത്യയിലുടനീളം 14,000-ത്തിലധികം ആശുപത്രികളിൽ പണമടയ്ക്കാതെയുള്ള ചികിത്സ (Cashless) ലഭ്യമാകും.
- മൃതദേഹം നാട്ടിലെത്തിക്കാനുള്ള തുക: അപകട ഇൻഷുറൻസിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി, മൃതദേഹം നാട്ടിലെത്തിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ചെലവുകളും (വിദേശത്ത് നിന്ന് ₹50,000 വരെ, ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്കകത്ത് ₹25,000 വരെ) ലഭിക്കും.

NORKA Care Launched: Registration Extended for ₹15 Lakh Health & Accident Insurance for Pravasis
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a major move for the welfare of Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs), the Government of Kerala has launched NORKA Care, a comprehensive new insurance scheme. The deadline for joining this first-of-its-kind policy has now been extended to November 30, 2025.
The scheme, inaugurated by Hon. Chief Minister Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, was a long-standing demand from expatriate communities, including at the Loka Kerala Sabha. It provides a combined ₹5 lakh health insurance and ₹10 lakh personal accident coverage.
What is the NORKA Care Scheme?
NORKA Care is a policy package designed for NRKs, Kerala students abroad, and NRKs living in other Indian states. It provides two main benefits:
- ₹5 Lakh Health Insurance: A Group Mediclaim policy for hospitalization expenses.
- ₹10 Lakh Accident Coverage: A Group Personal Accident policy covering death and disability.
Key Features & Highlights
This policy is designed to address the specific needs of Pravasis:
- Covers Pre-existing Diseases: One of the biggest benefits is that the policy covers pre-existing illnesses from day one.
- No Waiting Period: The standard 30-day waiting period for claims has been completely waived.
- Cashless Treatment: Policyholders can avail cashless services at over 14,000 empaneled hospitals across India, including more than 500 hospitals in Kerala.
- Repatriation Coverage: The accident policy includes costs for repatriation of mortal remains (up to ₹50,000 from outside India and ₹25,000 from within India).

To be eligible, applicants must hold a valid NORKA ID card.
