റിയാദ്: 2026-ലെ ഹജ്ജ് തീർത്ഥാടനത്തിനായുള്ള ഉഭയകക്ഷി കരാറിൽ സൗദി അറേബ്യയും ഇന്ത്യയും ഒപ്പുവെച്ചു. ജിദ്ദയിൽ ഞായറാഴ്ച നടന്ന ചടങ്ങിൽ സൗദി ഹജ്ജ്, ഉംറ മന്ത്രി ഡോ. തൗഫീഖ് ബിൻ ഫൗസാൻ അൽ റബിഅയും ഇന്ത്യൻ പാർലമെന്ററി കാര്യ-ന്യൂനപക്ഷ ക്ഷേമ മന്ത്രി കിരൺ റിജിജുവും കരാറിൽ ഒപ്പുവെച്ചു.
കരാർ പ്രകാരം, ഈ വർഷവും ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ഹജ്ജ് ക്വാട്ടയിൽ മാറ്റമുണ്ടാവില്ല. കഴിഞ്ഞ വർഷത്തിന് സമാനമായി 1,75,025 തീർത്ഥാടകർക്ക് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ നിന്ന് ഹജ്ജിനെത്താൻ അവസരമുണ്ടാകും.
ഇന്ത്യൻ തീർത്ഥാടകർക്കുള്ള താമസം, ഗതാഗതം, ആരോഗ്യ സേവനങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചും ഇരു മന്ത്രിമാരും ചർച്ച ചെയ്തു. തീർത്ഥാടനം സുഗമമാക്കുന്നതിന് ആവശ്യമായ ലോജിസ്റ്റിക് പിന്തുണയും ഏകോപനവും ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്താനും ചർച്ചയിൽ ധാരണയായി.
ഇതിന് പുറമെ, ഹജ്ജ് ഒരുക്കങ്ങൾ വിലയിരുത്തുന്നതിനായി മന്ത്രി കിരൺ റിജിജു റിയാദിലെ ഇന്ത്യൻ എംബസി, ജിദ്ദ കോൺസുലേറ്റ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരുമായി പ്രത്യേക അവലോകന യോഗവും നടത്തി.
Saudi Arabia and India Sign 2026 Hajj Agreement; Quota for Indian Pilgrims Unchanged
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and India have signed the bilateral Hajj agreement for the upcoming 2026 pilgrimage.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony in Jeddah on Sunday by Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, and Kiren Rijiju, the Indian Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Welfare.
As per the agreement, the Hajj quota for India remains unchanged from last year, with a total of 1,75,025 pilgrims allocated.
The two ministers also discussed measures to enhance facilities, transportation, accommodation, and health services for Indian pilgrims. The discussions focused on strengthening coordination and logistical support to ensure a smooth and comfortable pilgrimage experience.
Following the signing, Minister Kiren Rijiju held a separate review meeting with officials from the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah to assess the Hajj preparations.
